Who We Work With

Commercial Drain Relining for Different Sites and Sectors

Every commercial site brings its own access and disruption challenges. Relining is particularly valuable where excavation would mean breaking into buildings, floors, roads, parking areas or working premises so we assess each site on its own terms before recommending a repair.

Commercial premises

Offices and retail

Restaurants, pubs, hotels and hospitality

Landlords and managing agents

Housing associations and blocks of flats

Schools and public buildings

Warehouses and industrial sites

Car parks, roads and hardstanding

Whatever your site, Sam and the Roman Rod team will work around your business to keep disruption, downtime and loss of access to a minimum.

What We Offer

Roman Rod Commercial Drain Relining Solutions

CCTV drain surveys and diagnosis

Locating cracks, joint failure and root ingress before we recommend a repair method.

CIPP drain lining (also known as Structural Drain Lining)

A resin-saturated liner cured in place to form a new structural pipe inside the old one, without excavation.

Patch lining and localised repairs

A targeted resin patch for an isolated defect, where a full reline isn't needed.

Drain cleaning and preparation

High-pressure water jetting to clean the host pipe before lining begins.

Root cutting and mechanical preparation

Removing root ingress and scale so the liner bonds properly to the pipe wall.

Repairing Drains Without Disruptive Excavation

Excavation on a commercial site rarely stays contained to the drain run itself.

Digging up a building floor, warehouse yard, retail unit, car park, road, area of hardstanding or landscaped ground brings reinstatement costs, extended programmes and for an occupied commercial site, business interruption can outweigh the cost of the repair.

Trenchless, no-dig drain repair avoids that: the liner is installed through existing access points, so there’s no excavation and reinstatement, no lost site access, and far less downtime for the business operating above.

For facilities managers, property managers, landlords and site operators, the practical questions usually matter more than the technical detail: how much access is needed, whether an area needs to close, how long the drain will be out of use, whether excavation can be avoided altogether, what happens to connected drainage during the works, and how disruption is planned around the rest of the site.

We plan every commercial relining job around these questions, so the works fit around your operation rather than the other way round.

Why Choose Re-Lining Over Excavation?

Let's Compare

Drain Re-Lining Excavation & Pipe Replacement
Disruption Internal repair - no digging, no reinstatement Floors, car parks, roads or landscaping often dug up
Time Same-day repairs possible Can take days, even weeks
Access Access via existing manholes or a small entry point Heavy plant, welfare and site clearance often required
Business impact Site can usually remain operational throughout Areas may need to close during works
Warranty WRc-compliant liners, typically 20-50 year design life Varies by contractor and materials
Suitability Depends on pipe condition, diameter and access - confirmed by CCTV survey Usually required where a pipe has collapsed or lining isn't viable

Minimal Disruption

How the Commercial Drain Relining Process Works

  1. CCTV survey of the affected drain run.

  2. Diagnosis of the defect such as cracking, joint failure, root ingress or deformation.

  3. Suitability assessment to confirm relining is the right repair method.

  4. Drain cleaning and preparation, using high-pressure water jetting and mechanical cutting where needed.

  5. Liner selection, based on pipe diameter, material and defect type.

  6. Liner installation: inversion or pull-in-place, depending on the site.

  7. Curing of the resin system, including UV curing where appropriate, to form the new structural pipe.

  8. Reopening of any lateral connections affected by the lining.

  9. Post-installation CCTV verification of the completed repair.

  10. Documentation and completion record provided on handover.

When Drain Relining is Suitable

Commercial Drain Relining Across Bath, Chippenham, Trowbridge, Wiltshire & Somerset

Using CCTV drain surveys, we identify the exact cause of a drainage problem before recommending a repair. Wherever the pipe condition allows, that means trenchless pipe repair rather than unnecessary excavation.

For commercial sites, where a dug-up car park, floor slab or access road has real cost beyond the repair itself, that distinction matters.

Relining is generally suitable for cracked drains, leaking pipework, joint defects, root-damaged drains and ageing drainage runs, along with sites experiencing repeated defects or blockages where a CCTV condition survey has identified structural damage. It’s also the preferred option for pipes running beneath surfaces that would be difficult or expensive to dig up like building floors, access roads, car parks and hardstanding.

Relining isn’t automatically the right fix for every damaged drain. Suitability depends on the host pipe condition, pipe diameter, the extent of any deformation or collapse, and access to junctions, all of which we confirm with a CCTV condition survey before recommending a course of action. Where a pipe has collapsed or lining isn’t viable, we’ll say so and explain the alternative.
